Customer Success: Amanda’s Story

Amanda is a determined single mother who, via the Parents Next program, embarked on a journey to improve her job prospects through further education. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, with Amanda facing numerous hurdles along the way. However, with support from the Beenleigh Workways team and the Employment Fund, she is finally realising her education goals.

Initially enrolling in a Certificate III in Community Services with the Ashley Institute of Training, Amanda hit a snag with funding for her course. While applying for her Cert III guarantee, TAFE QLD denied her approval and instead enrolled her in their fee free course, against her wishes.

Amanda felt like she was going in circles. Fortunately, Workways stepped in to offer crucial assistance and help her off the bureaucratic roundabout. Workways team member, Mihi, liaised directly with both training providers to find a solution that ensured Amanda’s enrolment aligned with her preferences and eligibility for funding.

While Amanda was relieved to finally be enrolled in her course of choice, she confessed she was struggling to complete her assignments, using only her mobile phone! Immediately recognising this as a barrier to Amanda’s success, Mihi leveraged the Employment Fund to provide Amanda with a vital tool for her studies – a laptop.

On receiving her laptop, Amanda declared: “OMG so cool! Thank you so much for your hard work and help! I really appreciate all the assistance.”

Amanda’s perseverance and Workways’ dedicated support have paved the way for her to pursue her educational and career aspirations. She is now enrolled in her course of choice with all the tools she needs to achieve her education goals. We can’t wait to see what she achieves next.
